Bed and Breakfast Brunate

The B&B is located at the foot of the Volta lighthouse surrounded by nature, with parking and a terrace of 150 square meters. 2 KM from the funicular and 8 KM from the historic center of Como is 10 km to the border of the Swiss noise at 50KM from Malpensa and Milan. Pets allowed.

To reach the B&B by car you have to go from Como to Brunate for about 6km; arrived in Brunate follow the signs to San Maurizio or Faro Voltiano to 2KM; arrived in the square you will find restaurant Polenteria, a small kiosk and a pizzeria, at this point, you have arrived.

On request you can get a person for sightseeing, dining, shopping and more, to be agreed before the arrival.

Entire home, 6 guests with 2 bedrooms (6 beds), 1 bath, free parking on premises, breakfast is provided, Wi-Fi, kitchen, washer, TV, towels, bed sheets, soap, and toilet paper, iron, indoor fireplace, crib/high chair, hair dryer, terrace with BBQ grill, luggage drop-off allowed, pets allowed.

According to the legend, the Kangucavallo was born at the time the lighthouse was built. The lighthouse, thanks to its coloured beams (white, green and red), can be seen during the night from 50 km distance and it’s a landmark for tourists.

Once upon a time a poor family, mother, father and their 2 children (10 and 3 years old), made a very long journey in order to reach the lighthouse, but once arrived in S. Maurizio they were really tired and the youngest child was not able to climb up the stairs as the steps were far too high for him.

Looking at the three-coloured beams the father said: “I wish there was a horse which could carry my wife, my daughter and my self and kangaroo to carry my son in the pouch”. His wish was fulfilled as in that moment the Kangucavallo appeared, half horse and half kangaroo.

The Kangucavallo is a very meek animal it can easily be your friend but it needs freedom, it can’t be locked up or forced to do things it doesn’t want to.
